The eldest of the Kitsune clan, Yao has celebrated her tercentennial birthday more than once, keeping her true age in the dark to the rest of her clan. Due to her association with Ukime she has no need to hide her true appearance as her body is forever ageless. It's said that the pleasure she brings to her victims is a feeling truly worth dying for and every man she drains dies with a pleased smile. Because of the rumors, she's a popular destination for men who wish to end their lives.
She survived through the golden age of ninja and may have very well been the originator of both the Kitsune clan and the fox masks worn by some members of ANBU. She possesses an extreme reverence for Kurama, but not so much for those who would take the fox into themselves as jinchuriki. She finds herself appalled by the latest nine-tails jinchuriki and her entirely pacifistic views, seeing it as an affront to Kurama’s will and power.
She sees the Kitsune-characteristic mutations bestowed upon her possession by Ukime to be an incredible blessing that has brought her that much closer to her master, Kurama. She now serves both beings to her utmost best, but it has not been seen what happens when one concept directly contradicts the other.
Yao possesses a moderate amount of Ukime’s power, capable of regenerating herself from nearly any type of attack. Though she can be wounded you have to hit her first as the eight tailed Kitsune enjoys using a vast combination of complicated illusions to stymie any offense against her.
