History

Being born of one of the eldest clans in the mage association can be harsh. Being the sole surviving heir on the first year that the clan has chosen to participate in the grail wars is another thing entirely.

As the first born heir in clan Romania, Pax was immediately groomed to become the carrier of the clan’s crest and the first participant in the upcoming war. That is… until she was discovered to have a terrible shortcoming.

Her alignment with the magic of gears and cogs meant that all the knowledge and magical ability engraved into the crest on her body was for naught, leaving her as a fresh mage of the clan despite the nine generations that had come before. With no better heir anywhere in sight, their hopes were now forced onto her with nowhere else to turn. At least specialized fields of magic tended to be more formidable than the basic elemental manipulation. Pax also tended to lean heavily toward magical ability, which was also a relief.

Still, the clan remained unsatisfied that their single attendant had only a single magical skill, eventually altering the magical circuits in her eyes to grant her the binding form of mystic eyes to further bolster her threat in combat.

Pax herself is uncertain how to think of this whole situation, but for now she’s going along with it. She’ll deal with it somewhere down the road… For now, her time is up.
