Fighting Style: Uses Tanto in close range.  Tanto are two mini blades/daggers that utilize speed over power.  Although not his go to, he eventually relies on his clans control over blood to fight.  Able to utilize a plethora of weapons fluently.  When over using his blood control, he will be overcome by his inner demon that haunts the clan.  Although incomplete, the demon is strong and he loses any self control at this point.

History

Kohaku's bloodline, the Hanyou clan, is a nomadic tribe that has never been accepted into any society it has attempted to settle.  They are viewed as demons that are only a walking death threat.  Kohaku's family, however, split from the clan and were able to settle in Konoha freely, starting anew with no neighbors aware of their history.  To hide their ancestry, they took on the name Ryou, it's multiple meanings of Distant, Reality and Refreshing fitting the new life.  After 4 years of restarting their lives, they gave birth to Kohaku.  For 5 more years, they lived peaceful lives with their son and sister, Shinobu, who was born one year after Kohaku.  The family felt as if they were in a perfect situation and nothing could go wrong for them now.  They never had to fight and were well received by the community.  However this soon changed for the worse.

In the tenth year of living in the Konoha, a ninja went rouge and began a streak of serial killing within the community.  Three deaths into his killings, the man chose his next victims to be the peace loving Ryou family.  He felt as if he could easily take a hostage and extort the higher ups for money and get away with even more from the family's home as well.  Attacking the home, he overpowered Kohaku's mother, holding her hostage as his father hid the children.  Injured and out of options, Kohaku's father chased the man out of the home, hostage in hand.  Outside, Kohaku's father said a small curse for having to rely on what he had originally turned away from.  He struck the man from behind with blood needles.  The killer turned, staggering from the injuries caused by the needles and seemingly slit the throat of his hostage.  He'd rather live than risk his life over some hostage.  This caused Kohaku's father to enter a rampage, entering his demon form.  After going on a rampage, killing the serial killer and do of the neighbors, he was killed by a urgent response team.  The mother would awake in hospital care the next day, a small scare near her collarbone.  The killer had panicked and slit far to low, causing only minimal damage.  

Kohaku and Shinobu from this point on were treated as outcasts by the community.  Although the parents had been able to make it seem as if they were adopted orphans, many had beliefs that they were either biological or being used as demonic experimentation and rituals.  This strong movement against him and his family caused Kohaku to create a shell around him and gaining trust issues.  He would be preyed on by other kids in his class for pranks, which were always taken too far.  He often got in fights protecting his sister from the same hatred.  When he was 14, his mother left to search for the clan that they originated from.  Her goal was to find a way to control the inner demon so that her children would be suffer a similar fate as their father.  Only in secret has Kohaku and Shinobu used their bloodlines, however they keep bottles of blood on them in emergency situations.  Going through ninja school, Kohaku would take up the Tanto after being proficient with almost any weapon he got his hands on.  He preferred speed over power in close situations.

Now he works with his sister to fight the demon nicknames they've received, although this ambition is shared only between them and is something unknown to those around them, as they hold a stern attitude in the face of their peers These dreams are only that of children, as they will soon learn...

Fighting Style: Most proficient with bow and arrow at range. Likes to take out targets quickly and quietly from a distance. When forced into close range fighting, she utilizes her speed with her Kodachi. Turns to bloodline abilities when she feels they are necessary. Uses tactics to disrupt enemy movement and senses.

History

Similarly to her brother, Shinobu spent most of her life after their father's death, being bullied, fighting classmates and being shunned by society. Kohaku would fight for her until she was strong enough to fight her own battles. The consistent berating and violence caused her to lose any ability to trust those around her, relying solely on her relationship with her brother to fight through the difficult times. She and her mother fell out of good terms after learning about the secret to her heritage and questioning why they were not informed prior. Although she never confronted her mother on the issue itself, the fallout with her children were one of the reasons why the mother left to seek help on the issue of demonic transformation.
At the age of 9, Shinobu took up archery, which she excelled at. Her instructor applauded her natural ability, stating that with her "hawk-like vision" could become a deadly shooter from extreme distances. For close range confrontation, Shinobu learned from her brother and utilizes speed with her single Kodachi blade. The one she uses was a gift from her late father, on her birthday a year before he was killed. It's typically strapped to her back, along her waist for ease of access.
